That terribly hot morning workout..
80 degrees on a March morning, really?
Today I set a new record in the duration of my workout. Last week, Frank and I ran for 50 minutes at Rose Canyon. Despite the fact that I hadn’t run in the past 5 days (excuse: weekend was a ridiculous mixture of busy-ness and frustration), Frank asked (forced) me to move it up a notch to 60 minutes.
And I fared decently. While the pace was definitely not up to that which I need to complete the 13-mile course in under 2 hours, I felt much better towards the end of the run even with the extra 10 minutes. No sore arms or that overstreched feeling in the hamstrings.
The heat, however, was killer. I treasured every bit of small breeze that blew through the canyon. I haven’t sweated this much since that one basketball game mid-summer in a gym with broken air conditioners when I was… 16? Reminder to self: start at 6 or 7am!
*edt: map of trail added! 5.79 miles :)
