Oh, Spring…
Can I just say that it hailed & rained in San Diego today? Last I checked, we don’t get any rain in June! Meanwhile, up in lush, green Seattle, temperatures reached nearly 90 farenheit. What the hell is going on?
Ok, where was I…
So long gone are the days of “blogging” about the smallest daily happenings (Xanga, circa 2003). I doubt there will come a time when I will be doing that again (exceptions: on my travels, when I fall victim to the tweets, or when my future wife is giving birth - oh wait, that’s no small happening!).
Anyway, the point that I am getting at is that this quarter has been full of surprises, emotional up’s & down’s, and first times. If there is one quarter that I’ll remember from this (academic) year, it will definitely be this one.
I should be jumping back onto this editing screen to elaborate further, but for now, let’s have a bullet list for starters:
- visited a Central American country - Honduras - for a week
- spoke (terrible, broken) Spanish to native speakers
- starting a new student organization on campus
- having my photos published in a local newspaper, Sacramento county sheriff newsletter, and featured on MSNBC (please vote for it? ;)
- shaved my head completely bald
- ran a half-marathon and accomplished my goal of under 2 hours
- having a T/Th-only class schedule (not as cool as it seems)
- did 2,500+ ft of hill climbing on my bike
- photographed a sustainable fashion show
- got my car vandalized and towed
- watched the American Le Mans live at Long Beach
- met a guy who essentially has my dream job
- performed a keg stand
- saw 4 bands/artists perform live
- learned Chinese (40’s-90’s) history and thoroughly enjoyed it
- have a totally rad, hippie professor - pink & red hair, rides a yellow & blue road bike to school everyday, neon-multi-colored messenger bag, vegan. seriously cool.
- fell in love with How I Met Your Mother
Now, just need to reside in the library for the next 7 days to finish all the finals and bring on summer!
